REPRESENTATIVE DENIES REID HAS CHECKED OUT OF REHAB
Actress TARA REID's representative has refuted reports the star checked out of
a rehabilitation centre in California on Saturday (03Jan08).
The American Pie star entered the Promises Treatment Center in December (08)
for undisclosed reasons.
At the weekend (03-04Jan08), People.com reported the star had left the
facility, with a source telling the website the star is "doing well".
But the star's spokesperson Jack Ketsoyan insists news of Reid's departure is
premature - telling E! News "it's not true".

She tells Britain's Glamour magazine, "Ninety-five per cent is BS (bulls**t). I read a story about myself dancing sexily in front of Prince William and Harry, when actually I was just sitting there and they came up to me and said, 'Hey, nice to meet you.'" And Hilton strongly refutes claims at the time that she gave the young princes - who both have girlfriends - her phone number. She adds, "You see, I didn't. Beyonce made comments about Janet Jackson's family in an interview with Elle magazine. Recently Beyonce's Father manager was sued by Armon Tillman the law suit stated that Beyonce's Manger/ Father took money that was to be invested and spent it on drugs and wild parties with hookers. In the law suit it stated that Beyonce's Father wasted 32 million dollars of the groups monies (Beyonce's former group Destinys Child) on drugs and hookers. In an interview with Star Magazine Beyonce's Father admitted to cheating on his wife and having a drug and sex addiction which he has sought help for. Yet in an interview with Elle magazine Beyonce implied that Janet Jackson's family was not from a high-class background. She stated "I grew up upper class. Private school. My dad had
a Jaguar. We're African-American and we work together as a family, so people
assume we're like the Jacksons - but I didn't have parents using me to get out
of a bad situation. According to the New York Daily News, Jackson, who hails from the working
class area of Gary, Indiana, is so "infuriated" by the comment she is planning
to confront the singer.
The former Melrose Place star has pleaded no contest to reckless driving to
avoid a trial. She has been sentenced to three years on informal probation.
Locklear will also attend a 12-hour drug education program and pay a $700 fine, as part of the conditions surrounding her sentencing. The actress was arrested in September (08) after a tabloid journalist called
police to report Locklear was allegedly driving under the influence of drugs.
Locklear did not attend Friday's (02Jan08) sentencing hearing in Santa
Barbara, California.

Actress JENNIFER GARNER has sparked reports she's planning to ring in the New Year with a new baby after checking into a California hospital on New Year's Eve (31Dec08). The star is nine months pregnant with her second child and she and husband Ben Affleck were spotted entering Los Angeles' Cedars-Sinai Medical Center on Wednesday (31Dec08). Garner was reluctant to reveal she was expecting until she was five months pregnant, but her thrilled mother-in-law and her former Alias co-star Victor Garber let the baby news slip in July (08). The actress told People magazine at the time, "It always makes me laugh when people say 'Is she? Isn't she?' It's like, 'Eventually you will know, so just chill out for a minute." Garner and Affleck have a two-year-old daughter called Violet.
WINEHOUSE SUMMONED TO NORWAY TO FACE DRUG CHARGES
Troubled star AMY WINEHOUSE has been summoned to appear at a Norwegian court on drug charges after she was caught in possession of marijuana in the country. The Rehab hitmaker was arrested alongside husband Blake Fielder-Civil and her hairdresser in Norway's city of Bergen in October 2007 after she was found with seven grammes of the illegal drug in her hotel room. The trio was released by authorities after paying a fine of $430 (£294), although Winehouse later contested the fine. The trial was scheduled for the beginning of 2008, but prosecutors were forced to postpone the hearing due to the imprisonment of Fielder-Civil, who was jailed in 2007 in relation to an attack on a pub landlord. He was released in November (08) after agreeing to attend a rehab centre, but was ordered back to jail after failing a mandatory drugs test as part of his rehabilitation course. He could remain behind bars until 2010. Now, a trial date in Norway has been set for 12 January (09) and the singer is expected to attend, according to prosecutor Rudolf Christoffersen. He says, "I was informed by British police on December 23 that she has been legally summoned, and we expect that she will be there when the trial opens on January 12." According to Christoffersen, Fielder-Civil has already received a summons from Norwegian authorities. British police are reportedly seeking the whereabouts of the star's hairdresser, who will also be summoned to appear in front of lawmakers. The 2007 arrest hampered the star's career throughout 2008 - she struggled to obtain a visa to travel to America for the Grammy Awards in February, and was forced to accept her five gongs via satellite link from London.

Basketball icon-turned-political hopeful CHARLES BARKLEY has been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence (DUI). The former athlete, who announced in August (08) his plans to run for Alabama state governor, was held by the Gilbert Police Department at a DUI checkpoint in Arizona on Wednesday (31Dec08). Barkley, 45, had his blood tested on the scene by a mobile DUI task force. He was released shortly afterwards and took a taxi home.
DMX PLEADS GUILTY TO ANIMAL CRUELTY, DRUG POSSESSION AND THEFT
Incarcerated rapper DMX has pleaded guilty to four charges of animal cruelty, drug possession and theft in three separate cases. The star, real name Earl Simmons, entered his pleas at a court hearing on Tuesday (30Dec08). They included one count of animal cruelty and one count of possession of narcotic drugs. In two separate cases, the rapper also pleaded guilty to theft and possession of marijuana, reports TMZ.com. Simmons was captured earlier this month (09Dec08) when an Arizona judge issued a bench warrant for his arrest after he missed a court appearance to face charges of drug possession. He was tracked down at the Miami, Florida home of fugitive hip-hop producer Scott Storch and held in Miami-Dade County jail until his extradition to Arizona's Maricopa County Jail on 19 December (08). As part of a plea agreement, all additional charges against him were dropped. The rapper's sentencing is scheduled for 30 January (09). Britney Spears' meltdown Spears shocked the world with her whirlwind romance and swift wedding to dancer Kevin Federline in 2004 and, after giving birth to two sons, the couple's messy split two years later left the singer in a tragic downward spiral. The double meltdown led to a massive shake up for the star both professionally and personally. Her father, Jamie, was awarded conservatorship of Spears' estate, and took control of both her legal and financial affairs, while dismissing one-time manager Sam Lutfi and several hangers-on. Meanwhile, Spears was stripped of visitation rights to her two sons. Spears remains under the careful watch of her father. she is regaining the right to look after her boys three days a week and relaunching her career with new album, Circus, and an upcoming world tour.

The development of a New York hotel rapper JAY-Z invested in is on hold because the star and his partners cannot pull in further financing for the project.
The Big Pimpin' hitmaker - real name Shawn Carter who just married mega Star Beyonce who voted by Forbes magazine as one of the top earners under 30 years of age - ploughed money into J Hotels, which acquired a $66 million plot to build a high-end hotel in the Big Apple.
But due to the ailing economy, partners have failed to pull in investors - and there is now a $370 million shortfall in funds, as even the banks won't back the property development.
Charles Blaichman, one of Jay-Z's partners, tells The New York Times, "A year ago it would have seemed a reasonable amount. Not now. Even the banks who want to give us money can't."

She says, "Next year, I have to learn to stop biting my nails! I would like to stop worrying so much, because I worry all the time. And to learn how to be happier, just in general. Gregory Leakes, left in November after Winwood Properties filed an eviction notice.
The owner of the home, Kajani Shenaz Ali, lives overseas, Pierce said. Online records show the home in the gated community of Stonebrier at Sugarloaf was purchased for $829,400 in September 2006. Pierce said the Leakeses moved into the home in 2006.
NeNe Leakes, in a series of e-mails Tuesday, would not say where she is now living. “It’s none of your business,” she wrote. But she noted that they “are financial able [sic] and stable to live where ever we feel fits.”
NeNe Leakes, 41, wrote that the eviction notice does not have her name on it, adding “and you don’t know my relationship with Greg so be careful what you report!” The Duluth home, she wrote in an e-mail late last week, “was a lease purchase corporate deal with Greg & his company. Things didn’t work out between the two of them so they did what they had to do and he did what he had to do.”
Gregory Leakes, 54, couldn’t be reached for comment. The TV show called him a real estate investor. The only business the AJC could find under his name in Georgia is called “Advantage Move LLC.” The phone number listed for Advantage Move has been disconnected.
